Young Melissa Gilbert had her very first kiss while filming Little House on the Prairie. Despite her inexperience, she needed to shoot the wedding scene night after Laura marries Almanzo Wilder. In addition to being inexperienced, she was a good deal younger than Dean Butler who played Almanzo. That made things a bit uncomfortable for her. Gilbert was only 15 and Butler was 23 years old. Of course, it was natural that she had anxiety around the intimate scenes considering that.
