Tragically, many Little House on the Prairie cast members eventually got diagnosed with cancer, and sadly, some passed from cancer. Among those who suffered from the disease was actor Michael Landon. He suffered from pancreatic cancer. In addition, actor Kevin Hagen who played Doc Baker and Victor French who played Isaiah Edwards also got cancer. The only cancer survivor from Little House on the Prairie was actress Charlotte Steward, who you know as Miss Beadle. Many started to theorize that radioactively contaminated materials must have been too close to the set, since so many LHOTP castmates suffered from cancer.

Puberty Troubles
Unfortunately, puberty did not consult the Little House on the Prairie producers when it came knocking. It can be very difficult for child actors undergoing puberty on set. Actress Melissa Gilbert began going through puberty before her character Laura Ingalls, thus, they made her make adjustments. Since she was growing into a more feminine figure, they had her bind her chest. Wow, that must have been wildly uncomfortable to wear daily!
