Pushing For The Show
Producer for the show and employed by United Artists Television, Sherwood Schwartz was a huge name in the industry. At the time that Schwartz went to speak with CBS’s president Jim Aubrey in order to pitch Gilligan’s Island, Jim Aubrey was hesitant. Aubrey worried that if they aired the show, fans would grow tired of the show since Gilligan and the gang never escape the island. However, thanks to Schwartz’s persistence, the show got its chance.
