Custom Outfit
Speaking of outfits, Dawn Wells put a good amount of thought into her costume wardrobe. Actually, she knew that she would be constantly compared to Tina Lousie, who played Ginger. Therefore, she tried to compensate for her shorter stature when next to Tina by showing off her legs. She designed short shorts, but at the time, navels were not allowed to be exposed. Thus, she added extra fabric to hide her belly button. Despite this, her outfits still caused a bit of a stir. It was the first time someone wore shorts on TV!

Aging Cast
Since Gilligan’s Island is from the 1960’s, many of the stars have since died. Sadly, show creator Sherwood Schwartz has passed. As far as the regular cast members go, just Tina Louise and Dawn Wells remain. Hopefully, these talented ladies stick around a while!
