The Cocaine Mummies
Cocaine is a drug we know much about in today’s society but a case in 1992 baffled scientists. You see, cocaine hasn’t always been around so when German scientists tested the remnants of Egyptian mummies in 1992 and found evidence of cocaine and tobacco. It didn’t make sense. These very drugs were not in Egypt at the time as cocaine was cultivated in the Americas and there has never been any documented trading between the two.
