Health & Wellness Tips To Keep You Healthy This Fall

Boost Your Immune System

During the season of autumn people’s immune system tends to weaken which is why they get sick quicker. The best advice we can give you is to wash your hands to prevent sicknesses, eat nutritious foods, and drink plenty of water. Make sure to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and don’t forget to exercise on a regular basis.

Take A Vitamin D Supplement

Most of the Vitamin D we get is from the sun, however as the colder months approach our intake, therefore, decreases as we tend not to spend as much time outdoors. If you live in an area where the weather is too cold to spend time outdoors, its best to take a Vitamin D supplement to help boost your mood and immune system. If you would rather get your Vitamin D through the foods you eat, be sure to eat foods high in Vitamin D such as salmon, tuna, mushrooms, eggs yolks, or beef liver.

Stock Up On Seasonal Foods & Spices

The beginning of fall is the time where we need to nourish our bodies with all the best seasonal foods and spices. Here are a few foods we highly recommend you stock up on, pumpkin, kale, eggplant, dark leafy greens, broccoli, beets, and eggplant. As for spices, some of the seasonal favorites, include ginger, Tumeric, cinnamon, saffron, and rosemary. There are tons of health benefits from both these foods and spices that you can take advantage of during fall.

Stay Active!

When fall rolls around, we all tend to get a lot lazier and often just lounge around most of the time. However, it is so important to keep moving throughout the day. Whether it’s sticking to your regular exercise routine, doing some yoga, or even just raking the leaves in the garden. Inactivity from spending too much time indoors during fall and winter can cause our metabolisms to slow down and the weakening of our immune system. So make sure to keep your bodies moving and take advantage of all the warmer, sunnier days during fall.

Quench Your Thirst With H20

As the days begin to get colder, our bodies tend to lose nearly the same amount of fluid as we do during the hotter months of the year. As we are wearing a lot more layers of clothing that are heavier as well, our bodies will sweat more as well. This is why it is so vital to get an adequate amount of water into our bodies. It will also help keep our skin soft and less dry.
