Starting in November 2010, Aldi stores in Germany started relying on “technological innovation” to offer freshly baked made-to-order bread in only a few seconds. The chain introduced in-store baking machines in their stores, although the German Bakers’ Confederation did not like it. In fact, this led to a court battle in which the Aldi counsel denying the right to have the machines and the dough inspected.
