Dick Sargent’s Brave Move
The second Darrin, Dick Sargent, came out as gay on none other than Coming Out Day in 1991. From then on, he was a huge advocate for gay rights, often referring to the tragically high rates of gay teen suicide. When he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and suffered poor health, many falsely assumed he was sick with AIDS. At age 64, he passed away. When Elizabeth Montgomery heard she said, “He was a great friend, and I will miss his love, his sense of humor and his remarkable courage.”

Why The Kravitz House Looked So Familiar
Like Samantha’s home was from other shows and films, so was the neighbor’s house. Turns out, the Stephens and Kravitzs were not truly neighbors. The Kravitz home was really down the street from Samantha and Darrin’s. Maybe you recognized the Kravitz home from The Donna Reed Show, which it was used for from 1964-6. Later, even The Partridge Family used it! Wow, can you imagine…they used that house on sets for over 50 years!
