Another amazing thing about Bewitched was that they had 22 African American students from a South Central L.A.’s 10th grade high school class write the episode “Sisters at Heart.” Even though most of these students struggled with reading and writing, they came together to make an episode about acceptance and racism. At the time, many celebrated it as thoughtful in its approach to a sensitive topic, but nowadays, some parts may not be seen as politically correct, but we’ll get there.

Lasting Tribute
Although Bewitched is no longer producing new episodes, the series lives on. Yes, it was even ranked on Tv Guide’s ’50 Greatest Shows of All Time.’ Also, a monument was constructed as a tribute to Bewitched! In Salem, Massachusetts, you can find a statue of Samantha on her broomstick that was erected in 2005 for the show’s 40th anniversary. Bewitched was one of the very first feminist sitcoms!
