Another bizarre urban legend also claims that Costner almost broke Cal Ripken Jr.’s record of consecutive games streak when he got romantically involved with the baseball player’s wife while he was a guest in their home! The story goes that Costner, who played baseball players in numerous projects, became good friends with the Hall-of-Famer. However, he was allegedly caught in the act and then subsequently beaten up by Ripken Jr.! The Iron Man was said to be so upset about the whole thing that his team, the Baltimore Orioles, canceled their upcoming game over an “electrical failure”.
