Things That You Probably Did Not Know About The Trump Family

Before he was elected into power as the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump was a real estate businessman. But just how did a boy from Queens become one of the most powerful men on earth? Well, we can actually trace his success to that of his grandfather. After that, his father Fred went on to take over the family business to great success. Of course, Donald would eventually get his turn to expand the fortune as well. Let us find out more about the history of this fascinating family!

A Little Boy

The 45th POTUS was born Donald John Trump on June 14, 1946. He is the fourth child of Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod. They had been married for a decade when they had him. The baby was born at a hospital called the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens. He had German ancestry from his dad and Scottish ancestry from his mom. Frederick, his grandfather, moved to the United States in 1885 at the young age of 16. He earned his citizenship in 1892. A skilled businessman, he started the family fortune with the operation of “boomtown” restaurants and boarding houses. On Facebook, Donald shared a photo of himself as a little boy. He decided to inject some humor into the situation by adding this caption: “Who knew this innocent kid would grow into a monster?” Yes, it was just a joke.

The wealth in the family started at the hands of Frederick, Donald’s grandfather. In 1902, he exchanged vows with Elisabeth Christ. They moved to New York three years later and stayed there until the end of their lives. Fred, Donald’s dad, was also born in 1905. When he was 15 years old, he started to work for the real estate business of the family. In 1923, he launched E. Trump & Son with his mom. The business operated in Brooklyn and Queens in New York City. Fred Trump tied the knot with Mary Anne MacLeod in 1936, and the couple went on to have five children together. Ever since he was young, Donald liked to follow his own rules. Look at this photo of him with his siblings back in the day. Donald is on the far left. From left to right, the other people in the photo would be Fred Jr, Elizabeth, Maryanne, and Robert.
