In 1983, Trump purchased a United States Football League team called the New Jersey Generals. Later that year, he succeeded in bringing Heisman Trophy awardee Herschel Walker to the league. In 1985, he managed to the same with Doug Flutie of Boston College. Before the start of the 1986 season, the league ended up folding after it lost an antitrust case against the National Football League. Another thing that led to its demise would be the schedule change. You see, Donald Trump decided to move it from the spring/summer to the fall/winter.
