The photo shows Trump posing in his Trump Tower in 1984. He proudly told the media, “What I have done is build the most beautiful buildings in the best locations.” Trump was able to leave his mark on the Plaza Hotel and the Wollman skating rink during the ‘80s. In the following decade, he refurbished the Gulf and Western Building, as well as the Bank of Manhattan Trust Building. The latter was extensively renovated and then renamed the Trump Building. On top of this, Trump also wanted to rename the Empire State Building when he bought shares of it from 1994 to 2002. His plan had been to buy a majority share and then change its name to “Trump Empire State Building Tower Apartments.”
