The British singer took the soul scene by storm with “I Really Don’t Know What to Do with Myself” and “Son of Preacher Man.” Not only that, but she was also a key Swinging Sixties icon. We really liked the sight of her in evening gowns as she acted. The singer had a cancer fight for five years, but in 1999 she finally lost it. She may not be here now, but her reputation for a while.
