There was a time when Kim Carnes was compared to Rod Stewart due to her raspy voice. “In 1980, after Kenny Rogers hired her to write “Gideon” with him, she brought the music scene to Stork. “They also had a duet known as “Don’t Fall in Love with a Dreamer.” The song rose to fourth place on the Billboard Hot 100. Apart from that, the duo also got a Grammy nomination for that performance. It’s worth listening to her “Mistaken Identity” album with the song “Bette Davis Eyes.”
