Wiley’s First Taste Of Fame
Although Samira Wiley studied at Juilliard and mainly worked in the theater, she got the opportunity of a lifetime upon hearing about the television show Orange is the New Black. A friend of hers, named Marco Ramirez, from Juilliard was writing for the show and told her about the auditions. After nailing her audition, she joined the first season and quickly became a fan favorite of the show.
