Susan Dey

Susan Dey was a famous American actress during her time. Before starting her career as an actress, she made a couple of modeling gigs alongside her sister after her grandmother submitted their photos to a modeling agency. Her first modeling break was the cover of a photo booklet by Pursettes tampons on the primary fact of menstruation for young girls.  She was made famous by her role as Laurie Partridge on the sitcom The Partridge Family which aired for four years, starting from the year 1970 to 1974. After the show, she continued acting, joining the cast of the drama series, L.A. Law as Grace Van Owen which aired from 1986 until 1992. Her great acting skills on the show had awarded her the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 1988. She also hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live in 1992. Dey also succeeded in the writing industry after publishing a book titled Susan Dey’s Secrets on Boys, Beauty, and Popularity in 1972. She remained in the industry for a while and did a couple more show appearances. She decided to retire from acting in 2004 after her latest role as Dr Breene in Third Watch.

Bo Derek

Not being born in the 70s would not hinder us from knowing who Bo Derek was. Born as Mart Cathleen Collins in 1956, Derek was known to be a film and television actress, a film producer, and a model. She broke through her career when she starred in the film 10 in 1979. The film did not only pave the way for Derek but also made a great hit at the box office and had an enormous financial success. Since her breakthrough performance in 10, she starred in numerous series like A Change in Season and played the role of a college student who had an affair with her older, married professor. The film was not as big a hit as her previous one though. She also was featured in Playboy magazine in 1980. Derek had her first leading role in Tarzan, the Ape Man in 1981, which was directed by her husband. Although the film received negative reviews from critics, it became a box office success, making over $35 million in sales. She stepped away from the spotlight for quite a while. In 2002, she published her autobiography entitled Riding Lessons: Everything That Matters In Life, I Learned from Horses. Recently, Derek had been donating to many organizations such as Branson’s Wild Aid. She also introduced a product line for dogs named Bless the Beasts.
