Meryl Streep was an actress who was born in 1949 in New Jersey. Her mother, who worked as an editor and artist was the inspiration of Meryl to enter the world of art. Her mother gave her the courage and confidence she needed to succeed in the industry. In the year 1970s, she participated on her first Broadway, and she became one of the actresses in the movie industry and played her part in Julia. In the year 1978, she appeared in the film The Deer Hunter. She explained that she accepted the role because her boyfriend named John Cazale wanted her to perform in that movie where they could act together. However, her boyfriend was diagnosed with lung cancer, and she did not like to be apart from him. However, since she gained her first Academy Award nomination, her career became successful, and she learned a lot of projects.

However, she did not achieve her fame because of that movie. Her popularity started to rise because of the film called Taxi. This was a 1977 sitcom that became popular to the viewers where she played her role until 1983, and because of her performance, she was nominated for five Golden Globe Awards. Marilu was not only an actress but also a writer. She authored the book Changing Normal and How I Helped My Husband Defeat Cancer.
