Wanda Sykes
Back in 2008, Wanda Sykes came out during a gay rights rally in Las Vegas. Wanda Sykes said, “I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn’t feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life. Everybody that knows me personally, they know I’m gay.” That same year she married Alex Niedbalski and they welcomed twins in 2009. However, she only came out to her conservative parents when she was 40 years old. They didn’t attend her wedding, but have come around since then and are enjoying their role as grandparents too.

Kristian Nairn
Every Game of Thrones fan recognizes Kristian Nairn as his character Hodor. In response to a Game of Thrones fan blog in 2014, Nairn officially came out. He wrote, “Well, in all honesty, when you talk about ‘the gay community,’ you are talking about MY community. I’ve never hidden my sexuality from anyone, my whole life in fact. I’ve been waiting for someone to ask about it in an interview.” He added that his sexuality is “a very small part of who I am on the whole, but nonetheless, in this day and age, it’s important to stand up and be counted.”
