Anyway, there was some speculation about Martin’s sexuality and even Barbara Walters pushed him to confirm whether he was gay or not in an interview, but she later apologized. Then in 2010, Ricky Martin wrote on his website, “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.” In 2018, he married painter Jwan Yosef. Now, Martin is an active advocate for LGBTQ rights.

Robin Roberts
ABC anchor Robin Roberts publicly came out in her 2013 Facebook post to update fans on her bone marrow transplant during her battle against myelodysplastic syndrome. In the post she also thanked her “longtime girlfriend, Amber.” The two had been dating since 2005, and friends and family knew about Roberts’ sexual orientation. Then in 2015, Roberts was named one of the 31 Icons of the 2015 LGBT History Month by Equality Forum.
