Cynthia Nixon shot to fame with her role as Miranda in the cult hit Sex and the City. She decided to come out after replacing her publicist who advised her against it. Nixon spoke with The Advocate and said her next publicist encouraged her. To this Nixon said, “I was like, ‘Really, we can just confirm?’. So that’s just what we did. It was so fantastic.” In 2012, she married her partner, Christine Marinoni. In 2012 she also identified as bisexual. Her and her family are members of an LGBT synagogue in NYC called Congregation Beit Simchat Torah.

British diver Tom Daley came out in 2013 via a YouTube video. He said, “I met someone and they make me feel so happy and safe; everything just feels great. That someone is a guy.” The Olympic bronze medalist went on to confirm he was gay months later on Celebrity Juice. Now, he’s married to Dustin Lance Black. In February 2018, the two announced they’re expected a child through a surrogate.
