At the time, he joined a small number of men known to have contracted the disease from heterosexual relations. Thus, it’s no surprise that ESPN named this the 7th most memorable moment in 2004 from the past 25 years! Lots of people celebrated the star. Former President George H.W. Bush called Magic Johnson a hero.
