Practicing Caution
Before he got too close he suddenly realized that there was a great chance its mother would be in the vicinity. When an animal’s young is threatened, the mother can become very dangerous and cause serious harm to someone. So after taking a look around the area for the moose’s mother he understood that it was alone.
