Miraculous Intervention
Next, the bear ripped the mountain lion off Biggs’ backpack before getting into a brawl with the cat. Alas the bear came out the champion and Biggs said, this was since the bear “outweighed the cat 400 pounds to 100 pounds.” The mountain lion fled the scene and the bear returned to all fours. Apparently, the bear looked right at Biggs before regrouping with her cub.

Just Some Scratches
After this wild attack and rescue, Biggs was able to escape with only some scratches. He had been hiking this exact two mile trek in California’s Bean Soup Flat area for many years, never imagining this type of life-threatening attack. After getting home, he ignored his wife’s requests to visit a hospital. He chose to put peroxide on and wash up. His wife said, “There were puncture wounds and skin was hanging off, and you don’t know what’s in their paws,”
