Inglorious Basterds

Of course, when we think back on Inglorious Basterds, we can’t help but hear the hysterical accent that Brad Pitt put on. Yet, for this moment, we aren’t focusing on Pitt. Remember when Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) begins to choke Bridget (Diane Kruger)? Well, that’s not exactly what happened…Turns out, that the hands we see choking actress Diane Kruger were the hands of director Quentin Tarantino! It was Tarantino who wanted to demonstrate to Christoph Waltz on how to do the scene. Maybe that’s why Kruger’s fear was so authentic. In fact, she did faint after the scene. Must have been a bit scary to get strangled by her director!

Foxcatcher

Channing Tatum really needed to go to a dark place in order to play Mark Schultz for Foxcatcher. Of course, one of the harder scenes was to portray Schultz having his mental breakdown. Therefore, Tatum wanted to fully embrace the scene and decided to beat himself up. Actually, he totally went off script and somehow wound up breaking the mirror with just his head. That entire scene was not scripted. Yet, the resulting scene was so powerful, it was the perfect fit for the movie.
