Breaking The Record
Although Lone Star couldn’t find what it was, the endeavor remained for five further years. By 1983, an astonishing 39,000 feet could reach the planet’s surface through the nine-inches-wide hole. One borehole broke that record on 6 June 1979, called SG-3.
