Keeping To Herself
With her passion for success and focused determination, Nadia gained a reputation and was dubbed “an emotionless gymnast”. That, however, is far from being true. At the time, she was very emotional, and rightly so! However, she did not usually show her feelings and preferred to keep them to herself. Nadia’s coach, Béla Károlyi, commented that “she kept everything inside.” Nadia was actually pitiful seeing as she was just too young to cope with everything.

Soon, Romanian Sporting Authority officials started to realize how their decision to reassign Béla to train another athlete as affected the young Nadia. Thus, he was reinstated as her coach at once. The reunion was pretty tearful, but a happy one overall. However, the two did not sit around to catch up, seeing as the Olympic Games, that were going to be in Moscow, were very near.
