Teddy took a couple of days to get used to his OAA pen. He’d finally warmed up to the workers. They gave him pain medication, which also helped him feel better. After more tests, they discovered that he was most likely in excruciating pain, which is why the drug was prescribed. However, there was still a significant issue that needed to be addressed.

Teddy’s veterinarian attributed his ill health to his inability to move gracefully. He wasn’t very active for a dog and gained a lot of weight, which only added to his already had problems. Overweight dogs are more likely to develop problems with their joints, ligaments, and bones, as well as internal organ dysfunction, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Teddy would have to lose weight and be on a diet for quite some time as if his situation wasn’t bad enough.
