Here’s something interesting about Steven Seagal: he was the first foreigner to run an aikido dojo in Japan! How cool is that? He later moved to Los Angeles, California and worked as a martial art instructor there. This all happened before the beginning of his acting career. In 1988, he made his onscreen debut in Above the Law and it marked the beginning of a successful career. When he quit acting, it was a no-brainer that he ended up joining the law enforcement. His skills must have helped a lot when he became a reserve deputy sheriff in Louisiana.
