A Long Road Ahead
The Stelvio Pass in Northern Italy is the highest paved road in the Eastern Alps, with a height of 9,045 feet above sea level, making it the top paved road in Europe. The facility is only open during the summer season, which is understandable. Even during the Giro d’Italia cycling race, the 75 turns on the road are occasionally used as a shortcut.
