Men and women are prohibited from using contraceptives by Saudi law. This is actually rather surprising since Iran, a country which is also Muslim-majority, has one of very few condom factories located in the Middle East.

Chewing Coffee Beans
Because coffee is thought to be a stimulant, it is forbidden in the country. The Saudis refer to it as ‘gahwa’. It means “that which prevents sleep.” In spite of the law, a lot of Saudis still drink coffee. Some even chew coffee beans while they are praying.
