The royal family of Saudi Arabia had a deeply distressing time in 1975 because it was the year when a family assassination happened. King Faisal was assassinated by his nephew after the king returned from his trip to America. Not long before the assassination, King Faisal was named “Man of the Year” by Time magazine.

9/11 Involvement
While the United States was still recovering from the 9/11 tragedy, Saudi Arabia was defending itself against claims that it was involved in the attacks. However, proof soon came to light that most of the hijackers that perpetrated the attacks were from Saudi Arabia. As a matter of fact, 15 hijackers out of 19 were Saudi nationals.
