Turning To Strangers For Help
People have recently started to turn to platforms such as GoFundMe when they could not afford to cover medical expenses on their own. There is something admirable about the fact that strangers go out of their way to help people in need. NerdWallet has said that $930 million of the $2 billion they raised in 2015 had been for hospital bills.

Troubling Stats
While there are numerous fundraising efforts that went on to be successful, more campaigns did not meet their goals. According to NerdWallet, only a tenth of those campaigns is successful. Most people will then have to rely on charities such as the one Harvey and Marjorie founded for help.
