Turns out, they were denied the rights to “Another One Bites the Dust” to use for Rocky III. So, Sly hired the band Survivor to write a special, original song for the film. That’s how they got “Eye of the Tiger.”

Bringing In Family
The Rocky budget was a bit over $1 million, so Sly brought in his family members to play small parts. He had his dad, Frank Stallone Sr., ringing the bell for the start and end of a round. Meanwhile, his brother Frank Stallone played the street corner singer. Oh, his first wife, Sasha Czack, was the stills photographer.
