Calling Off The Wedding
Since having children was the most important thing in Karen’s life, she wanted to call off the wedding. But when she called her mother to relay the issue, her mother berated her and concluded that no such cancellation would take place. Her reasoning was that friends and family had already planned to come to the weeding. in addition, she told her daughter, “The invitations have gone out. There are reporters and photographers coming. People magazine is going to be there. The wedding is on, and you will walk down that aisle. You made your bed, Karen,” she told her. “Now you’ll have to lay in it.”
