Karen was sought after by many big names, and one of those names was Elvis Presley (again). The story goes that apparently he had invited her and British singer, Petula Clark up to his hotel room for, um, time to chat. Recalling the awkward situation, Clark said, “He was very amused by that. It was probably the first time anyone had ever turned him down.”

After Karen had passed away, many famous musicians started to comment on the band and specifically on Karen. One such example was Paul McCartney of The Beatles, who said that he felt she had the best vocals of all time.
