First Band On A Billboard
Believe it or not, The Doors were the very first band to use a billboard to adverstise. On it, they promoted their album. Apparently, head of Elektra Records Jac Holzman picked the Chateau Marmont since it was one of Jim Morrison’s favorite spots.
