So, what really happened when they stopped the show after only three seasons? Apparently, CBS redid their lineup that year and cut Gilligan’s Island. But why? Well, at that time Gilligan’s Island had low ratings, thus, CBS believed it may do better in a less expensive time slot. However, CBS executives decided to just cut it altogether since they picked up Gunsmoke.

In early 2016 when the legendary David Bowie passed away, another hashtag began trending. Somehow, #RipBobDenver also caught fire. Thus, fans paid their tribute to Bob Denver, star of Gilligan’s Island. Yes, they were touching, but one thing was odd. Denver had died about ten years earlier. Nonetheless, people kept paying their respects.
