So in the Gilligan’s Island episode, “You have been disconnected,” we see Mr. Howell giving Gilligan his wife’s diamond necklaces in order to cut encased wires. Mr. Howell actually turned to Gilligan and said, “You’ll have more carrots than Bugs Bunny.” Turns out, actor Jim Backus said this because he had voiced a Looney Tunes character in “A-Lad-In His Lamp.” Backus had voiced Smokey the Genie alongside fan favorite, Bugs Bunny.

Of course, we all know Carroll O’Connor who played the famous racist and bigoted Archie Bunker on All in the Family. Fun fact, O’Connor actually tried out to play the Skipper. However, Sherwood Schwartz did not think he was right for the role, so he turned O’Connor down.
