Worldwide Acclaim
Although Gilligan’s Island was only on for three seasons, the show gained worldwide acclaim. In fact, once when Dawn Wells was at the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific, she came upon a small island where a tribe was living without any modern technology. In this small fishing village, they did not even have electricity. When Dawn Wells was introduced the tribe’s chief, he was overcome with excitement. Apparently, he knew her from the show!
