When it comes to the concept of practically limitless planets and galaxies then it is quite fair to assume that there are other planet(s) full of life. However, we have yet to meet any on our space travels nor have any visited us. Why?!

The Vanishing of Pilot Fred Valentich
Way back in 1978, pilot Fred Valentich just vanished while flying his plane. The Australian was flying a Cessna 182L while on a training mission. When in the air Valentich radioed to command in Melbourne that an object was flying over him at a rather high rate of speed. As he spoke, metallic scraping sounds could be heard then suddenly, all transmission was lost. Just like that, Fred Valentich and his airplane were never seen or heard from again.
