A Pioneer Witch
Elizabeth Montgomery was not only a feminist pioneer on TV, but also a witch pioneer. Samantha always stood up to any witch, even if she suffered consequences for his beliefs. Of course, marrying a mortal presented a huge conflict with both mortals and the magical community. Just like I Love Lucy, mother-in-law Endora mispronounces Darrin’s name to show her disapproval. She would call him Dobbin, Darryl, Delmore and any other D name but Darrin. Actually, the character Endora only calls him his real name eight times in the entire Bewitched series.
