Elizabeth had some personal problems with her own father. Many saw how this troubled relationship worked when she was cast for Bewitched. Apparently, the star really wanted her own father to play her on-screen dad. However, he refused. Many who were close with the family felt he turned it down because he was resentful of her widespread success. What a shame.

Despite her first husband wishing Elizabeth Montgomery would quit her acting and instead, choose to be a housewife and stay-at-home mom, Elizabeth pursued her dreams. When she married producer Bill Asher, many saw him as a more positive influence because he encouraged her to continue with her acting just as Bewitched was preparing to film. Even though Montgomery herself wanted to throw in the towel, she stuck with it and all her fans are grateful for that!
