Before Rene Angelil was able to hear Celine’s demo, he was able to read the note attached to it. This note was written by Celine’s mother: “This is a 12-year-old with a fantastic voice. Please listen to her. We want her to be like Ginette Reno.” Rene didn’t respond right away. It was only with the pleas of Celine’s brother that he decided to give the demo a chance. Once he did, Rene immediately contacted Celine and invited her to audition.
