It Took Part In The Celebrations

On September 9th, the Stickleback arrived in San Francisco. It took part in celebrations and went up north to the east coast all the way to British Columbia in Canada. After this, the sub was deployed to Pearl Harbor in 1946 after it was decommissioned at the Mare Island Yard in June. At the time, the crew had no idea what fate had in store for this sub.

Called Back To Active Duty

The story of the Stickleback did not end with its decommission. Five years after this, hostilities erupted on the Korean peninsula in June 1950. The Korean War was a conflict that took place between the United States and its allies against the Communist North Korea, which had the backing of the Soviets and China. It was not “cold” at all. It also called the Stickleback from the Naval Reserve. It was back in service.
