The legendary TV therapist, Dr. Ruth Westheimer was initially asked to take on the role at Mrs. Schumacher  in the hit movie. Nevertheless, after carefully considering the offer, she declined the part as she didn’t want it to taint her professional image. That’s probably down to the fact that Mrs. Schumacher was a thief in this role, so Dr Ruth didn’t want this to affect her career. Eventually Paula Trueman accepted the role.
