Well, it’s not exactly common for men to wear heels, so appearing taller can be a tricky task. Well, Michael Landon found the perfect solution to gain a bit of height on screen. Landon was average height at 5 foot 9 inched, but wanted more height. Therefore, he wore special platform boots. Wow, I guess some men are quite sensitive about height.

As we spoke about before, Landon was the Bonanza star Little Joe Cartwright for a total of 14 years. So, if you were wondering just how much inspiration he took from that show for Little House on the Prairie, we’re here to tell you. Well, since Landon starred in, directed, produced and even wrote for Little House on the Prairie, he had no trouble recycling ideas from his former show. Specifically some LHOTP episodes that came from Bonanza episodes were “Little Lou” from Bonanza‘s “It’s a Small World,” along with “Someone Please Love Me” from “A Dream to Dream,” as well as “He Was Only Twelve” recycled from the episode “He Was Only Seven,” and even “The Silent Cry” from “The Sound of Sadness.” Landon believed such great ideas were bound to work again.
