With the reintroduction into the wild by Plucas, Emma began to venture out into wild without him. She explored the great outdoors with a new confidence now that she had grown up and had had Plucas’ support. But her venturing out became more than just a little adventure.

Emma began by going out for hours at a time without returning, but then returning before dark. But then one evening everything changed. Emma ventured out as she had been doing quite regularly, but this time something was different. The hours dragged by as night fell, but Plucas couldn’t see any sign of Emma. He began to worry – maybe she had gotten lost, maybe she had been attacked, maybe hunters had gotten her.
