Now that she was a fully-grown moose, Plucas knew that she could probably fend for herself, but that didn’t necessarily help him with the worrying. Plucas recalls those times vividly, “I remember those first nights she didn’t come home… Oh, I barely slept. But she grew up, I had to get over it. After all, it was my goal from the very beginning.”

The First Surprise
Just when Plucas was ready to accept that Emma had left and would be gone forever, she surprised him. But it wasn’t only once that she did so. Emma made it a daily occurrence that she visited her savior at his farm. Plucas was able to see that she had grown up, and she was definitely able to fend for herself now. So when she visited he made sure to make those moments count.
