Lola Falana found fame acting, singing and dancing thanks to help from both Dinah Washington and Sammy Davis, Jr. Although born in New Jersey and raised in Philadelphia, she found fame in Italy. She became a huge star of Italian cinema. Her American film debut came with The Liberation of L.B. Jones in 1970. Then, she began performing as a dance in Vegas and earned the nickname, “Queen of Las Vegas.” Sadly, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987 and hasn’t appeared on screens since 1989.
