The family learnt about the dog’s breed from the seller whom they purchased the puppy. The seller told them that the breed, Tibetan Mastiff, was a particularly large breed that could grow up to 180lbs and stand over 2ft tall. Quite a sizeable pup! The family named the puppy “little black”, due to his black fur, but it also may have been a coincidental premonition of the events to come. Despite being a strange name in English, the Chinese name was actually quite cute and well suited. Little black was soon to become a massive deal however, and could cause some serious issues for the family.

A Regular Beginning
The vacation was a wonderful bonding time for the family and new puppy. When they returned home, the family had to make some decisions on how was best to raise the dog. The climate in their region allowed for certain pets to live outside; some families kept their pet dogs in their gardens. Despite this, Su Yun and her family decided to raise Little Black indoors, keeping him closer to the rest of the family. The adjustment seemed to be going smoothly for all involved. Little Black was happy, as were the rest of the family. However, as time went on; they started to notice some questionable things happening to their beloved puppy.
